What is the Download Limit for Amazon Prime Video?

Amazon Prime Video was launched as Amazon Unbox in September 2006 and has since expanded its service to more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

You might already know this, but for the newbie’s here, Amazon lets you download most of the videos — Tv shows, movies, documentaries — which are available for offline viewing on your device via the Prime video app.

However, there are a few restrictions related to the number of videos you can download and store on your device at once and some other restrictions that you want to read; especially if you’re going to be travelling to a place with spotty mobile network.

Even if your country’s data plans are costly, you can use free public/corporate WiFi and download several hours of entertainment to help you while on the move.

What is the download limit on Prime Video?

One thing to note here is that not all of the content will be available for download. The content available for download will indicate so with a download icon to the right of the video’s title.

Another thing to note is that you won’t copy the downloaded videos or watch them outside of Prime Video app.

According to the company, you can download a maximum of either 15 or 25 total Prime Video titles at once (depending on your region) across all the devices connected to the same Amazon account. You can only download available content on two devices at a time.

Once the video is downloaded, you can view it even if there is no internet connection on your device.

How many devices can view videos at the same time on a single account?

Amazon Prime Videos lays restrictions on the number of devices that can stream videos from the same Amazon Prime account simultaneously.

You’re only allowed to view three different titles (videos) simultaneously using the same Amazon account. Users can also only watch the same video on two different devices at once.

How long is the downloaded title available to watch?

The downloaded videos on your Amazon prime account won’t stay there forever, but you have a limited viewing period which will vary video to video.

Once you download a video, you’ll have 30 days to begin watching the video. Once you’ve started the video, you’ll have about 48 hours before your device will be required to connect to the internet again to refresh the video.

You can find the downloaded titles in your Amazon Prime Video app menu under Downloads.

How to download the videos to my SD card/external storage?

Internal memory is used by most of the apps and the system, leaving some of it empty is always a good idea for your device to perform efficiently. So, if you have the option of external storage, then you should store your downloaded Prime Videos there using the following steps.

Now, all the videos downloaded through the Prime Video app will be stored in your device’s external memory. You can delete all the videos downloaded to your SD card at once using the option located at the bottom of the same screen.
