What happens when you block someone on Twitch?
Once you block someone on Twitch, they won’t be able to:
- Send you whispers.
- Host you.
- Add you as a friend.
- Purchase gift subs for other users on your channel.
- And, their messages will be filtered out of chats you don’t moderate.

How to block someone on the Twitch website?
Step 1: In the stream chat, click on the user you want to block and then on the small pop-up profile overview, click on the vertical three-dot button. Then, from the dropdown menu, click on Block (username). Step 2: In the pop-up dialog box, confirm blocking the Twitch user by clicking on the Block button.
How to block someone on the Twitch app?
- Similar to blocking someone on Twitch website, tap on the username of the person you want to block in a stream chat.
- From the slide-up menu, tap on Block option.
- On the pop-up prompt, tap on one of the reasons to block the person and then tap on the Confirm option.
How to unblock someone on the Twitch website?
There are two methods to unblock someone on the Twitch website.
Method 1: Via stream chat

Method 2: Via Twitch settings
Step 1: Click on your profile picture at the top-right of the screen. From the dropdown menu, click on Settings. Step 2: On the next page, click on the Security and Privacy tab and then scroll down to the Privacy heading. Click on Show Blocked Users link under Blocked Users section.
Step 3: You’ll now see a list of all the users that you’ve blocked on Twitch. To unblock a specific user, either search for their name or scroll down to their name and then click on the trash can/bin icon to unblock them.

How to unblock someone on the Twitch app?
