Two brands stand out in portable power stations: Bluetti and Jackery. These companies have been vying for the top spot in the market, offering a range of products that promise to keep your devices charged and your appliances running no matter where you are.

But which one is the better bet for your portable power needs? Let’s compare them in detail to help you make an informed decision.

Here’s what we will cover:

Know the companies: Bluetti and Jackery

Let us start the discussion by understanding a few points about the companies:

Bluetti vs Jackery: Which portable power station is best for you?

As both companies have several portable power stations, comparing all the devices is difficult. However, in this section, we will compare the most expensive devices from each company. For Bluetti, the device is the AC300, and for Jackery, the device is the Explorer 3000 Pro.

Battery technology

Bluetti AC300 plus B300

The Bluetti AC300 uses the LiFePO4 battery technology. It is a sub-type lithium-ion battery that provides more power and efficiency and runs longer. Thus, the LiFePO4 battery is better suited for high-power consumption homes, electric cars, and other appliances that require fast charging.

AC300 has a 3,072Wh capacity, which can be expanded to 12,288Wh. According to the company, the LiFePO4 battery in AC300’s life cycles extends to more than 3,500 cycles. Users can charge the batteries in seven ways: AC, solar, car, generator, lead-acid battery, dual AC, or AC plus solar.

Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro

On the other hand, the Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro has a large battery capacity of up to 3,024Wh that can “power up to 99% of outdoor appliances.” The company claims the device can fully charge within four hours (solar) or 2.4 hours (wall socket). For seamless management, users can use the Smart App Control.

However, the only negative aspect we found was the use of lithium batteries. Furthermore, users can expand Bluetti AC300’s battery fourfold by buying a B300 battery. However, Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro is already maxed out at 3,024Wh.

Moreover, the Bluetti AC300 and B300 battery modules can deliver more than 3,500 cycles compared to the Jackery 3000 Pro’s 2,000 cycles.

Ports and outlets

Let us now understand the ports and outlet situation of both devices we compare.

Bluetti AC300 has about 16 ports and outlets, including:

  • 6 x 120V/20A AC outlets.
  • 1 x 100W USB-C port.
  • 2 x 5v/3A USB-A and 2 x 18W USB-A ports.
  • 1 x 12v/30A (RV outlet)
  • 1 x 24v/10A (car outlet)
  • 1 x 15W max wireless charging pad.
  • 1 x NEMA TT-30 30A

On the other hand, the Jackery Explorer 300 Pro has 11 ports and outlets:

  • 3 x 230V/50Hz/13A AC outputs
  • 2 x USB-A outputs (Fast charging 3.0, 18W Max, with variable voltage and current specifications)
  • 2 x USB-C outputs (100W Max, with variable voltage and current specifications)
  • 1 x Car Port (12V/10A Max)
  • 1 x 230V/50Hz/10A Max AC input
  • 2 x DC inputs (2 x DC 8mm connectors: 11 to 17.5V)

Thus, Bluetti takes the lead in this department. Also, the Jackery Explorer 300 doesn’t provide a dedicated RV port, allowing users to connect bigger devices.

Price

Price is the most important factor when selecting the two portable power stations.

While the Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro is priced at $3,299, the Bluetti AC300 plus B300 is priced at $2,599.

Weight

Internal model of Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro

Another major consideration one should consider before reaching any conclusions is the product’s weight.

The Bluetti also seems to be at the forefront with a weight of 47.6 pounds or 21.6 kg, while the Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro weighs 63.9 lbs or approximately 29 kg.

Here’s a tabular representation of the above article:

Going with the above data, Bluetti seems to be a better deal. However, this is the comparison of just one of the several power stations the two companies offer. In some cases, Jackery’s portable power stations are also good. It depends on several factors suited to each individual. For example, not all people need a 12,288Wh battery, while others may be satisfied with only a few ports.

How to select a suitable portable power station?

Are you confused when deciding to buy a suitable power station? Don’t worry, as we will present a few points to guide you in the right direction:

  • Capacity and power output: The power output determines how many devices you can connect to the power station. Therefore, select the device according to your requirements.
  • Battery type: Batteries are the primary component of the portable power station. Leaving aside the larger battery consideration, which is common knowledge, people also go for less noisy, light-efficient batteries that can charge quickly. For example, lead-acid batteries are quite cheap but also require regular maintenance.
  • Portability: As the name ‘portable power station’ suggests, the product should be very portable. While a compact and lightweight product is suitable for hiking and camping, a heavy power station is ideal for RVs.
  • Port and outlets: The number of ports and outlets should also be your primary concern when choosing the right portable power station. The more ports, the more devices you can connect.
  • Charging options: Nowadays, there are multiple ways to charge the power station, including wall outlets, cars, or solar power. The more options you have, the better.
  • Price: Lastly, the device’s price can be a deciding factor in most cases. If the price is right and fits your budget, then that portable power station is right for you. Otherwise, wait a few months to add more bucks and go for the more expensive option.

In conclusion, Bluetti and Jackery offer some of the best portable power stations in the market. However, Bluetti seems to offer a better deal, but Jackery is a well-known brand with over 50 awards and recognitions. Look at the points under ‘How to select a portable power station?’ for the general things you should notice to make the right choice.
