DocX vs Doc file: Microsoft Word comparison | Candid.Technology

Rivalled by only a few, Microsoft Word has been the face of documents worldwide for the past few decades. While freeware like Google Docs and Open Office has made some waves among a niche userbase, Word still remains the most used of them all.

If you’re a daily user, you know that keyboard shortcuts can go a long way in making your day more productive. Microsoft Word has a huge set of built-in keyboard shortcuts to help you do everything from moving around the document to selecting and editing text, formatting characters and paragraphs, and inserting characters, among other tasks

In this article, we’ve discussed how you can add a shortcut key for bullet point in Microsoft Word in four simple steps. This method will work for Word 2003, 2007, 2010, 2017, 2019 and Office 365 without taking any other steps.

Step 1: Click on File on the top-left of the toolbar at the top.

Step 2: Then select Options from the sidebar to the left of the next page.

Step 3: On the Word Options window that appears, select Customize Ribbon on the sidebar to the left and then click on the Customize button at the bottom.

The Customize Keyboard window will appear. Continue to the next step.

Step 4: Scroll down the Categories box and select All Commands. Then select FormatBulletDefault under the Commands box to the right. You can now enter a custom shortcut key for Bullet Points in the box under Press new shortcut key and then click on the Assign button.

It’s recommended you use either Alt + Ctrl + B shortcut key for Strikethrough (as we’ve done above) or Alt + Shift + B key as these aren’t pre-assigned in Microsoft Word. Hoping this helped you assign a shortcut key for bullet points in your Microsoft Word installation.
