The user AppData folder in Windows is needed if you’re adding templates to Microsoft Word or Adobe Premiere Pro, among other apps. But people seem to be having an issue locating the folder in their PC, and if that’s happening with you too, you’re not alone.
Microsoft hides the AppData folder — alongwith the Roaming folder — by default and to use it you’ll have to unhide the folder to get any work done.

How to see AppData folder in Windows 10?
Open the File Explorer on your Windows 10 PC and follow the steps mentioned below to see the AppData folder.
- Go to C:/ drive.
- Then click on the View tab in the toolbar at the top.
- Then click on the checkbox beside Hidden items.
- Now click on Windows > Users >Default/Username.
You’ll now be able to see all the hidden files in C:/ drive, including the AppData folder.

How to see AppData folder in Windows 7?
It’s been more than a year since Microsoft ended support for Windows 7, yet if you’re still using it, follow the steps below if you can’t see the AppData folder on your PC.
- Open the Windows Explorer.
- Then go to C:/ drive.
- Then click on the Organise tab from the toolbar at the top.
- Then click on Folder and Search option.
- Then on the View tab in the box that appears.
- Then click on the toggle box beside Show hidden files, folders and drives under Files and Folders > HIdden files and folders.
