The game lets you type in a nickname when you first start playing. However, if you make a mistake in typing in the name or want to change it later, it’s not a very difficult thing to do.
Do keep in mind that changing your nickname in Free Fire is not free. It’s going to cost you 390 Diamonds. Diamonds are the paid in-game currency for Free Fire and you can buy them from within the game.

Step 1: Open up Free Fire and tap on your profile in top-left.
Step 2: Tap on the Edit button (Pencil icon) under your profile icon.

How to change your name in Free Fire for free?
You can also change your name for free using a name change card. To acquire a name change card you’re going to have to collect 200 Guild Tokens and 39 diamonds. You can get the guild points by completing daily quests and opening guild supplies. Not to mention you’re going to be a member of a guild first.
To get the diamonds for free, you can manage coupons by filling up surveys on Google Opinion rewards or sites like Prize Rebel. The free rename card is also available as a reward for Regional Battle Season 3. You must have a total of 10,000 points to avail the card.
