Chromebooks have become quite popular recently, and with next-generation hardware, they’re also more capable than ever. Not to mention all the updates that Google has brought to ChromeOS, making it useful daily.

That said, with a sea of choices available to customers, picking one can be hard. In this article, we’re going over the top seven Chromebooks with backlit keyboards.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C433

Brand: Asus | Price: $240.99

If you’re looking for a good all-around performer on a budget, Asus’s Flip C433 is a good buy. While it’d be nice to see an SSD instead of eMMC storage, the processor and RAM, although old, can handle ChromeOS, meaning you won’t run into performance issues. The display is also 1080p, which means you’re covered for any content consumption.

Acer Chromebook 514

Brand: Acer | Price: $312.31

While it costs more than the listing mentioned above and might not look as premium, you get faster DDR4 memory that’ll come in handy when you’ve got a lot of open tabs. However, the display is the show’s star, with a full HD IPS LED panel and up to 12 hours of battery life, as claimed by Acer. The 32GB eMMC storage is backed by 100GB of Google Cloud storage.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C15

Brand: Asus | Price: $499.99

You can probably pick up a mid-tier laptop at this price point, but if you’re looking for a premium Chromebook, you’re in luck. The Flip C15 features good build quality, a wonderful backlit keyboard, USI pen support, and a 15-inch full HD touchscreen. The processor and RAM are also rather powerful so performance snags won’t be your issue on this machine.

Lenovo Thinkpad C13 Yoga

Brand: Lenovo | Price: $279.00

This is a relatively good Chromebook with powerful enough internals to handle ChromeOS and many Chrome tabs easily so performance won’t be an issue here. The device also features a 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen and a keyboard from the Thinkpad series. Outside of the smaller form factor, the keyboard is the main attraction here. There’s also a fingerprint scanner for authentication and login.

Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5

Brand: Lenovo | Price: $331.90

This is a very good deal if you want a proper processor inside your Chromebook. It comes with a 10-gen U-series i3 paired with DDR4 memory so that performance won’t be a problem. Outside of that, the keyboard is a bit shallow and will take some getting used to, especially if you’re migrating from a laptop or external keyboard, but good overall. The screen is also decent and has narrow bezels, which helps fit a bigger screen in this small form factor.

Thanks to Samsung’s trade-in offers, you can get this for as low as $99.

Brand: Framework | Price: $999.00 and above

$1000 is a lot of money to pay for a Chromebook, as it’ll be much more practical to buy a laptop at that price range. However, the advantage of Framework is the customisation and upgrade options they offer. You can start off with a Chromebook, which is powerful enough to handle other Linux distros or even Windows, and then upgrade to a full Windows PC down the line without having to spend for two separate devices.
