While the Indian digital payments market is dominated by Paytm and Google Pay, Freecharge has managed to stay alive in several markets in the country, and just like the other mobile recharge apps or wallet, Freecharge also has many features to make online payments and transactions easier. However, if you feel like moving to one of the aforementioned alternatives for Freecharge or any other, it makes sense to delete your account before deserting it to ascertain that your financial data isn’t misused anytime in the future.
While creating a Freecharge account it only takes a few minutes, there is no direct way to delete a Freecharge account. The Freecharge app for Android or iOS or website has no option to delete your account. And this might not even come as a shock to many as several companies like Oyo, MakeMyTrip, PhonePe, and Ola employ the same practice.

Deleting Freecharge account permanently
You can contact Freecharge via their customer support on-call (1800-5727-133) and ask them to delete the account or send a mail to either care@freecharge.com or grievanceofficer@freecharge.com.
Following is a sample email to that you can copy and send to Freecharge customer support. For convenience and security, rather than picking one of the emails mentioned above addresses, we recommend adding both the email addresses in your ‘To’ or one of them in the ‘CC’ list.

This is the only way to delete your Freecharge account for good. Remember to send the email only via the email address that you’ve registered with Freecharge app for making your profile, as that will increase the chances of the contact support staff responding quicker than otherwise.
