San Francisco-based streaming service, TubiTV, boasts a free-to-watch catalogue of over 45,000 movies and TV shows, including original productions and more than 100 live news and sports channel.

Tubi leverages its partnership with over 400 brands ranging from indie studios to Hollywood, including household names like Warner Bros, MGM, Paramount and Lionsgate, to bring content to people for free without any subscription legally.

Tubitv.com is available on Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xfinity X1, Chromecast, Vizio, Xbox, Playstation, the web and smart TV from Samsung and Sony.

Does Tubi have ads?

Yes, since Tubi is an ad-supported free-to-watch on-demand video service, it does run ads to monetise the content.

These ads are generally one or two minutes long and run approximately every 15 minutes. This translates into four to eight minutes of ads per hour, which is still lower than the frequency of ads on a cable network.

As is true for any other business, Tubi must also make money to stay afloat and keep bringing new titles to its existing catalogue. So, since it’s a free on-demand video service, their primary source of revenue is advertisements between programmes and movies.

According to Tubi, “To keep our service legal and free, we include ads, which monetize the content that our partners, such as MGM, Lionsgate, and Paramount, provide to us!”

Can you skip Tubi ads?

Unlike Youtube and much like cable television, Tubi ads can’t be skipped.

Tubi offers no subscription service to get rid of the ads.

You can try running an Ad-blocker on the browser, such as Adblock or Ublock, among others, but that might result in Tubi’s website breaking, hindering the streaming of any content. Repeated ad-blocking can also lead to a ban of your profile or IP.

You can also use Tubi alongwith other third-party apps that will remove the ads from the service, but these apps will most certainly run their own ads or at least scrape any data possible from your Tubi account to sell to other third-party advertisers or advertising companies.

If you like watching content on Tubi for free, it makes more sense to help the streaming service survive by watching the ads.
