Cookies store your personal preferences in the form of small pieces of data when you are browsing the web. If you enable cookies on your browser then certain recurring information like login credentials, shopping cart history and among many other small tidbits of data are stored in your device, which makes your experience online more seamless and quicker.
However, enabling cookies can also allow third-party trackers to use and store your browsing history, and you might start getting more advertisements based on your recent search history. While cookies are used for targeted advertising, it can be quite helpful for other purposes too; for example, when you forget to save your shopping cart and exit the page cookies come to the rescue.

Enable cookies on the MacBook using Safari
Open Safari and follow the steps mentioned below to enable cookies on your Mac.
Step 1: Click on Safari from the top menu bar.
Step 2: Select Preferences.
Step 3: Click on the Privacy tab from the top bar to open the privacy settings of the browser.
Step 4: A list of options appear under Cookies and Website Data. You can check any action of the following options depending on your choice: Allow From Current Website Only, Allow From websites I visit, Always Allow. Choose Always Allow if you want to enable cookies on your Macbook completely. Click on the red cross button on the top-left of the window to save changes and close the window.

You can also manage previous website data by clicking on the tab Manage Website Data.
- If you want to clear cookies history for a particular website, type the website’s address on the search bar, select it and click on Remove.
- You can also delete all the cookies data stored in the memory by clicking on Remove All then click on Done to close the window.
