Mozilla Firefox browser is dwarfed in comparison with Google Chrome’s userbase but their push to bring enhanced privacy features for users like the Enhanced Tracking Protection tool that not only blocks tracking cookies but also cryptominers — which according to the company blocked an estimate of 1 trillion tracking requests since July 2019 — has created a niche userbase for Firefox.
Just like the features mentioned above, Firefox also has a built-in pop-up blocker. But if for some reason the tool is blocking pop-up windows that are essential to your work on the website, you can disable the pop-up blocker too. How to disable the pop-up blocker in Mozilla Firefox on PC?
Open your browser on a PC and follow the steps below to enable or disable the pop-up blocker in Firefox.
Step 1: Click on the hamburger (three-horizontal bars) menu icon located at the top-right of the browser window. Then from the dropdown menu, click on Options. You can Step 2: On the Options page, click on Privacy & Security and then scroll down to find Block pop-up windows option under Permissions. Click on the toggle button to uncheck it (as shown in the screenshot below).
Now Firefox won’t block pop-up windows anymore. To enable the pop-up blocker again, follow the same steps and check the toggle button beside Block pop-up windows option.Alternatively

Then you need to scroll down and uncheck the toggle button beside Block pop-up windows option to disable or check it to enable the pop-up blocker.
How to enable or disable the pop-up blocker on Firefox for iOS?
- Tap on the hamburger (triple horizontal bars) menu icon on the bottom-right of your Firefox browser on an iPhone.
- From the menu, tap on Settings.
- On the next page, tap on the toggle button beside Block Pop-up Windows so that it displays a dull grey colour to disable to the pop-up blocker on Firefox. If you want to enable the pop-up blocker, tap the same toggle button so that it displays a deep blue colour.
