Exynos 9610 vs Snapdragon 675 vs Helio P70

Smartphone makers release powerful mid-range phones that provide the user with reasonable processing power, decent graphics, sound quality camera, and many more features. To power all these smartphones, chipset manufacturers are competing hard and releasing powerful mid-range chipsets.

Samsung has released an in-house fabricated chipset, the Exynos 9610, to power its range of smartphones such as the Samsung A-series.

Snapdragon has released several chipsets for this segment, such as the 660, 675 and 710. Snapdragon 675 got the users’ attention the most because of the Redmi Note 7 Pro and its aggressive pricing by the company. The chipset is plenty powerful for most users.

Mediatek Helio P70 is the latest offering by the company and is the successor to the Helio P60. It differs from the latter with just a difference in the CPU and GPU frequency department by a tiny margin of 100Mhz. The Helio also has a new feature, Response Time Enhancement Technology, which company claims to optimise latency and response times.

With all these chipsets available in the market, there are minor differences in all of them. Here is a comparison between the chipsets on different parameters with a full-spec comparison in the table at the end of the article.

Semiconductor size

  • Exynos 9610 uses a 10 nm FINFET manufacturing node. Smaller the manufacturing node’s size, the more semiconductors it can fit, which increases the chipset’s processing capacity.
  • Snapdragon 675 uses an 11 nm LPP manufacturing node between Exynos 9610 and P70 in terms of processing power due to its manufacturing node.
  • Helio P70 uses a 12 nm manufacturing node and is the least efficient in the bunch.


  • The Exynos 9610 has 4 Cortex-A73 cores that clock at speeds up to 2.3 GHz and 4 Cortex-A53 cores with clock speed up to 1.6GHz. These cores provide enough power for a user with nominal usage and light gaming.
  • The SD 675 has 2 Kryo 460 (CA76) @ 2.0GHz and 6 Kryo 460 (CA55) @ 1.7GHz cores.
  • The P70 has 4 Cortex-A73 @ 2.1 GHz and 4 Cortex-A53 @ 2.0 GHz. P70 shares the same cores with Exynos 9610 but lacks performance due to the larger manufacturing node.


  • Exynos 9610 uses Mali-G72 MP3 and LPDDR4x  with a maximum of 6 GB as RAM required.
  • Snapdragon 675 uses Adreno 612 and LPDDR4x with a maximum of 8 GB as its RAM requirement.
  • P70 uses an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 at speed up to 900MHz and supports LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x with a maximum of 8 GB for RAM.

Benchmark (Antutu)

  • Exynos 9610 (Samsung A50s) has an Antutu overall score of 1,51,136. This score can vary from device to device depending on various factors.
  • Snapdragon 675 (Redmi Note 7 Pro) has an overall score of 181,467.
  • Helio P70 (Realme U1) has an Antutu overall score of 145,617.

Connectivity and Modem

Exynos 9610 and SD 675 have integrated LTE technology, while P70 misses out on this technology.

  • Exynos 9610 has an LTE Cat.112 3CA modem. It can provide 600Mbps download and 150Mbps upload speeds.
  • Snapdragon 675 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 LTE modem which can provide 600Mbps download and 150Mbps upload speed.
  • P70 has a Cat-7 DL/Cat-13 UL modem.


  • Exynos 9610 has a single 24MP rear with 24MP front or 16+16MP dual rear camera with 24MP front camera support.
  • SD 675 has Spectra 250 ISP triple-lens camera support with up to 5x optical zoom, providing good-quality shots.
  • Helio P70 extends 32MP or 24MP+16MP camera support.

Snapdragon 675 supports ECC memory, which is used to detect and correct data corruption. ECC is required when you are doing scientific computing or running a server. While Samsung Exynos 9610 and Helio P70 lack ECC but have NX Bit, which helps protect the computer from malicious attacks. SD 675 misses out on NX Bit.

Snapdragon 675 also has Out-Of-Order Execution, used in CPUs to use instruction cycles that would typically be wasted because of delays. This makes the chipset more efficient.

All these processors are robust and provide good smartphone experience, but the Exynos 9610 wins the game, with the most efficient architecture and high-clock speed CPU cores. All these chipsets perform equally in everyday tasks, and it depends on the smartphones and the features powered by these chipsets in the end.
