Google offers Stadia Pro free for two months in 14 countries

Google has announced that gamers in 14 countries across the world can gain access to their gaming platform, Stadia Pro, for free for the next two months. That’s not all, the existing Stadia Pro subscribers won’t be charged for the next two months.

The free offer is being rolled out actively, and after the free two-month subscription period, those who continue will have to pay $9.99 per month.

Users will be able to access nine games in Stadia Pro, including Grid, Thumper and Destiny 2: The Collection, with the option of purchasing additional games from the online store. Any games purchased by users on the free pass for the next two months will be available to play even if they cancel their subscription.

The company is also working on reducing the default screen resolution for playing games temporarily from 4K to 1080p (Full HD) to decrease the load on internet traffic.“We’re facing some of the most challenging times in recent memory. Keeping social distance is vital, but staying home for long periods can be difficult and feel isolating. Video games can be a valuable way to socialize with friends and family when you’re stuck at home, so we’re giving gamers in 14 countries free access to Stadia Pro for two months. This is starting today and rolling out over the next 48 hours,” Google announced.

Anyone signing up to Stadia Pro for the two free months can cancel the subscription before the payment period starts.

Talking about the difficulties faced during this pandemic, Google said, “Like so many people around the world going through this crisis, our support team has been significantly impacted, and our customer support functions are not running at full capacity.”
