Chinese company Hisense is one of the leading manufacturers of affordable smart TVs, appliances, smartphones and entertainment systems with a presence in over 55 countries worldwide.
One of their most popular affordable electronics in the market are Hisense TV lineup. However, much like any other hardware out there, Hisense TVs are also prone to bugs and errors. One such common error reported by people is that the Hisense TV red light blinks two times, and the TV doesn’t start after that.
One of the primary reasons for this error is an issue with the power supply to the TV, the power supply board inside the TV or a temporary software bug that’s stopping the device from working.
Here we’ve discussed four quick ways to resolve the error causing Hisense TV red light to blink twice.

Power cycle the TV
One of the first things you should do to fix the issue is power cycle your Hisense TV.
- Unplug the TV from the power supply.
- Wait for about five minutes.
- Plug the power supply back in and restart the TV.
Reset the TV
If a simple power cycle and restart don’t help, here are a few ways you can reset the Hisense TV.
- Unplug the TV from the power supply.
- Wait for about 15 minutes.
- Press and hold the power button on the TV (not the remote) and plug the TV back to the power supply.
- Keep the power button pressed for about 60 seconds once you’ve plugged in the TV and turned it on.
If this doesn’t work, continue with the steps below.
- Press and hold the Volume and Menu/Guide button on the remote.
- Press and release the power button (on the TV, not the remote).
In both cases, check if a blue light appears. If it does, wait 15 seconds before releasing the Volume and Menu buttons.

Check the power supply
Since the power supply could be one of the primary reasons you’re seeing this error, the first thing you should do is connect the TV directly to the wall power supply — if you’ve got it connected to an extension cord.
You can also check if the voltage of the said wall power output matches that of the TV. A mismatch in the power output and input can also cause a short in the TV’s circuitry.
Check-in with Hisense customer support
