Filters in Atlassian Jira are implemented on the Jira dashboard, such as a Scrum or Kanban dashboard. They filter out the issues for a specific project or sprint cycle. Furthermore, these filters provide additional filtering capabilities based on JQL queries.
Using quick filters, one can easily switch between different issues types that we view on the screen. It allows us to focus on the precise subset of tickets raised in Jira that fulfil our requirements. And quick filters in Jira list down specific issues from a vast range that concerns a user.
The quick filters make local and temporary adjustments to the board structure without changing the configurations for others. If two users simultaneously open the same board and you apply a filter, the other user will still view the original structure.
Since using quick filters is a preference granted to users independently, it doesn’t impact the board’s view of other users. Hence, multiple users can operate parallelly by applying different filters based on their needs without interrupting others’ work.
To configure the dashboard and its settings, one must either be a Jira Administrator or a Board Administrator. Additionally, you have the required control access for the structure to create, edit or apply filters in Jira.
