Ayushman Bharat Yojana
The Ayushman Bharat Yojana, introduced in 2018, strives to offer healthcare protection to economically vulnerable individuals and families across India. Under this scheme, each family is provided coverage for hospitalisation and treatment costs of up to Rs. 5 lakh. Additionally, the scheme includes coverage for pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses, ensuring comprehensive health insurance for its beneficiaries.
To avail the perks of the Ayushman Bharat card, you need to apply for it via the online portal. Once your application is approved, you can download your health card and receive a receipt, allowing you to begin receiving free treatment at hospitals. Eligible applicants include individuals from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), lower-income groups, and those without a permanent residence. Applicants must have necessary documents like an Aadhar card, PAN card, and ration card ready to apply for the scheme and obtain the Ayushman Bharat card.
