How to block someone on Gmail and Hangouts

People can be annoying at times. Getting spammed by a stranger? Or perhaps you need to get rid of that creepy guy sliding in your hangouts? Well, we got you covered.

Step 1:  On your computer, go to Hangouts at hangouts.google.com or in Gmail.

Step 2:  Select the person from the Hangouts list to open the conversation.

Step 3:  At the top of the conversation, click the settings icon.

Step 4: Click ‘Block’

As simple as that. No more annoyance for you!

If you’re on Android or iOS, the process is even simpler. All you need to do is open the conversation, click on the three vertical dots in the top right of the screen, select a person to block and it’s done.

How to block someone on Gmail

Sometimes it’s not enough to just mark an email as spam to get rid of it. If you wish to completely block the sender, here’s how –

Step 1: Open a conversation with the sender you wish to block.

Step 2: Hit the ‘down arrow’ on the far right of the sender’s name.

Step 3: Click Block.

After this, a confirmation prompt will pop up asking if you really want to block that specific sender. Just click block and you’re done!

So that’s how to get rid of annoying email spammers on Hangouts and Gmail.
