Playing games online exposes your identity to your digital avatars and in-game names. While some games let you change these on the fly, Valorant has taken a different approach.
If you want to change your in-game name in Valorant, you will have to change it via your Riot account. Here’s how.

Changing Valorant name
While the process is quite simple, you will have to go out of your way to change your in-game name. The option isn’t accessible from within the game either as you’ll have to use a web browser. Just follow these steps.
Step 1: Head over to the official Riot website and click the Sign In button at the top right.
Step 2: Once you’re logged in, the button will be replaced with your username. Hover over the username and select the Settings option from the dropdown that appears.
Step 3: You’ll now be in the Account Management section, where you can edit the corresponding fields to change your in-game name and tagline. Once you’re done, click the Save Changes button.
Remember that once you change your Riot ID name, you can’t change it again for 90 days. So make sure to check for any typos or mistakes before clicking the Save Changes button.
Since your Riot ID and Valorant in-game name are the same, the same username can be used across both platforms if you’ve got friends looking for you or if you’re trying to find someone else. While this unification means more hassle when it comes to changing your name, it does provide the convenience of not having different names for the game and platform independently.
