Moving a row in Excel

Cut and insert method
To know how to move a row in Excel through the cut and insert method follow the steps below.
Step 1: Right-click on the row number that you want to move located on the left side of the screen. Alternatively, you can click on the row number and then press the Ctrl+X key simultaneously
Step 2: In the dropdown menu, click on the Cut option. Alternatively, you can click on the row number and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+X to cut the row.
Step 3: Right-click on the row number where you want to insert the row. In the dropdown menu, click on the Insert Cut Cells option. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+(+) to insert the row, you have to press + only once.
The cut row will be inserted at the new location.
Drag and Drop method
To know how to move a row in Excel through the drag-and-drop method follow the steps below.
Step 1: Right-click on the row number that you want to move, press and hold the Shift button and hover over the edge of the selected row, it will show a four-directional arrow icon.
Step 2: Click on the edge and then drag and move the row on the row above or below the location you want to move and then release the mouse and the Shift button.
