Steps to remove duplicates in Google Sheets

Step 1: Open your spreadsheet on Google Sheets and select the data range you want to analyse for the duplicates.

Step 2: Click on the Data menu tab.

For example, in the spreadsheet we used, the sixth row is a duplicate, and we will remove it. In larger datasets, it’s hard to find duplicates so that you can select the whole data set or the data range of your choice.

Step 3: If you selected a particular data range then it will ask you to expand it to the whole sheet and whether the data has header row, you can use these options if you want and then click on the Remove duplicates button.

Step 4: It will show you the number of duplicates it found and the number of unique rows. Click on the OK button.

Step 5: As you can see, the duplicate has been removed from the sheet.
