As the 2021 season comes to a close, iRacing has announced AI support for three new cars and 20 different track layouts to be deployed in season one of 2022.
The cars include the Honda Civic Type R and Hyundai Elantra CN7 for Touring car racers and the Dallara IR18 for open-wheelers. In terms of tracks, users can now race against AI on the following tracks:
Ovals
- Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Oval, IndyCar Oval)
- Homestead-Miami Speedway (IndyCar Oval)
- World Wide Technology Raceway (Oval)
- Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (Oval)
The following road circuits can also be played with bots in a single-player mode.
- Charlotte Motor Speedway
- Knockhill Racing Circuit
- Watkins Glen International
All road course layouts on these tracks will be available for the AI to race on, and with the Watkins Glen Internation track getting rebuilt, this is bound to make practice sessions easier without any risk to players’ iRatings or their Safety Ratings.
