Cancel your existing orders

As we have mentioned earlier, there is a limit on the maximum number of orders that you can place. If you have placed more than 20 public orders, you might see the error.

So, cancel some of your existing orders to come back to the prescribed limit.

Exit out of the order

We have also mentioned that there is a bug and Blizzard is aware of the issue. According to Blizzard’s Battle.net support page, you can see the following message:

“We have received multiple reports of this issue and are currently investigating it. So far we have found that if an order is placed to the correct player, it works as it should.

However errors are shown if you try to send an order to yourself, to a player on a different realm, or who doesn’t have the profession. This is intended, but the errors shown in these cases are not clear enough and we are working on rectifying this.”

Just exit out of the order and then go back again. Many players on Reddit have reported that this fixes the issue.

Restart the game client

Thus, by cancelling your existing orders, exitting out of the order or by restarting the game client you can fix the ‘maximum number of orders reached’ error in WoW.
