Top 7 music bots

With Groovy and Rythm shutting down, Discord music bots are under fire by YouTube for not complying with their terms of service. Rhythm is the latest victim of this new move, receiving a cease and desist letter from YouTube to shut down operations.

The service finally shut down on September 15 whilst being active on about 20 million Discord servers, having an overall userbase of 560 million users. So now that the biggest music bots are knocked out of action, users are scrambling for alternatives.

In this article, we’re going over the top seven music bots for Discord that are still active.

Mee6 isn’t precisely a music bot, but it can play some tunes if needed. The bot helps server admins and mods to monitor the server, assign roles, notify people of social media events or streams and so forth. However, if needed, you can use your YouTube Music playlists in your Discord server with the help of the Mee6 bot.

ProBot is similar to Mee6 in its function. The bot can help with moderation, management and admin tasks and can also play music when needed. In terms of controlling and searching for music, you’ll feel right at home as the bot works very similarly to Rythm and Groovy.

Another dedicated music bot, Fredboat, can play music from Youtube, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Twitch and direct links. You can add the bot to your server straight away with zero configuration, and it works just fine.

Chip Bot

Chip bot is a music bot that comes with 24/7 uptimes for free. All you have to do is add the bot to your server and issue commands to play. If you decide to go the premium path, you’ll get things like bass boost, 8D filter, nightcore, and so much more.

If you’re looking around for a fun bot that’ll add more value to your server rather than play music, BMO is the right pick for you. The bot allows music streaming, games, memes, has some moderation tools, and even gamble.

Vexera is another multipurpose bot that can help you carry out moderator tasks, play games, fetch memes or facts, and, of course, play music. The bot also supports a bunch of sites, including YouTube, Spotify and Soundcloud, so you should be good to go.

As you can probably tell by the name, this bot specifically pulls music from Spotify to play on your servers. In terms of functionality, it’s pretty similar to Rythm or Groovy; however, you don’t get the flexibility of playing music from Youtube.
