The NBA is a massively popular league in the US and can be watched from a multitude of devices including but not limited to the Playstation 4 and 5. However, while the actual app itself is fairly good, it isn’t immune to the occasional bugs and glitches that can throw a rut in the user experience.

How to fix this?
Here are six fixes you can try out.
Restart your console
Apart from the error being caused by a simple game crash, which you can try to troubleshoot by restarting the game, you should also try restarting your console as well.
Restarting just about any device can fix a bunch of seemingly random issues including this one as well.
Restart your router
Restarting your router can help eliminate any unseen network or connectivity issues you may face. You have to turn off your router, wait a bit, and then turn it back on again. Additionally, as convenient as it might be, WiFi can sometimes be unstable, especially when streaming online content. Try using a wired connection between your router and PC or console to see if that solves the error.

Disabling any proxies or VPNs that you might be using
Another relatively common reason people run into this issue is when they’re trying to connect to a host through a proxy or a VPN connection, and the host keeps on denying the connection request.
Several high-profile sites, including streaming apps, often block connections coming over VPN to ensure a consistent experience and enforce content geo-restrictions. In such cases, the solution is pretty straightforward. You disable your proxy or VPN client and try connecting to the host again.
Update the NBA app
Another rather easy fix is to check for updates to the NBA app. More often than not, developers are aware if their app is facing any issues and release a patch to fix the problem.
Step 1: Head over to your library and choose the NBA app.
Step 2: Press the Options button on your Dualshock 4 controller. Select Check for Update from the options menu.
Wait for the update to complete and restart your console before launching the app. The error should be gone now.
Try reinstalling the app
Reinstalling the NBA app on your PS4 can help resolve any seemingly random issues.
Step 1: Head over to the PS4 Settings.
Step 2: Find Storage in the list.
Step 3: Click on Applications.
Step 4: Highlight the NBA app, press the Options button on your Dualshock 4 controller and click on Delete from the side menu.
Now restart your console and reinstall the app. The error should go away.
Update your PS4’s system software
If nothing else works, you’re going to have to take charge and update your console’s software version yourself. There are two ways you can do this.
- Using the Internet
- Manually updating using a software file.
