While the OnePlus’ 10 Pro’s release month and design (as well as a leaked spec sheet) are all out in the open, with the smartphone’s launch in China a little over a week ago, the company has now confirmed the specs for the upcoming phone.
The latest flagship from OnePlus’ quarter comes with a second-generation Hasselblad camera. The specs are also confirmed at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. The phone also gets 80W SuperVooc charging and a 5000 mAh battery, the largest in a OnePlus phone ever.
The phone went on sale in China on January 13, with a global launch coming later in 2022.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is on sale in China for RMB 4699 for 8/128GB, RMB 4999 for 8/256GB and RMB 5299 for the 12/256GB variant.
OnePlus founder Pete Lau also offered more details about the camera system. The new camera system will let users take photos in RAW+ and record LOG footage. The new ultra-wide offers a 150-degree field of view but, by default, will take 110-degree field-of-view shots with AI distortion correction.
OnePlus 10 Pro Specs confirmed, global wait begins
Here are the OnePlus 10 Pro specs that the company has confirmed.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is getting a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel complete with a 120Hz refresh rate and second-generation LTPO, which was pretty much what we expected.
OnePlus also claims that the display is industry-first for Dual Colour Calibration, ensuring colours are accurate and natural regardless of how bright or dim the display gets.
Performance and OS
Yet another confirmation was the processor, RAM and storage. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and gets up to 12GB of LPDRR5 RAM along with up to 256GB of two-lane UFS 3.1 storage.
On the software front, the phone gets ColorOS 12.1, which is based on Android 12. This is also the first OnePlus phone to run on the new combined OS merging OnePlus’ OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS. However, the Indian, European, and North American phone variants will run on OxygenOS 12.
The second-generation Hasselblad triple camera module at the back has three cameras, a 48MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera that can go as high as 150-degrees in terms of field of view and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom.
All three cameras can shoot in 12-bit RAW and let users save photos in RAW+. The Movie Mode baked into the phone enables users to capture LOG footage as well, which should tout the interest of filmmakers.
Other than that, the front gets a 32MP hole-punch selfie camera positioned in the top-left.
The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery and gets 80W SuperVooc fast charging. According to OnePlus, these numbers mean that the phone can go from one to 100% charge in about 32 minutes.
There’s also 50W AirVooc wireless charging, which will charge the device empty to full in a still very fast 47 minutes. An 80W charging brick will also be in the box, and the phone is still compatible with any Warp Charge accessories you might have to lie around.
