Roblox is one of the few games that just about anyone from children to adults can play whenever they want. The game is easily accessible online and doesn’t have any paywalled entry. That said, it isn’t perfect and keeps running into bugs and glitches from time to time.

In this article, we’re talking about Roblox error code 264, its causes and what you can do to fix the issue.

What causes this error code?

The error code is generally triggered when players try launching the game from the same account but on another device. Other common causes include:

  • Spotty internet connection.
  • Corrupt temporary files.
  • Roblox outage.

How to fix this?

Here are five fixes you can try out.

Restart your router

Power cycling your network equipment is the fix to more issues than you can think. More often than not, connectivity issues can be caused by an underlying bug in your router and can be fixed by rebooting.

Log out of Roblox

A rather quick solution to the problem is to simply log out of all the active Roblox accounts you have at the moment and try again. Sometimes accessing a single account from far too many devices can lead to problems.

Check Roblox’s server status

Another thing you should do is check Roblox’s server status. If there’s a server outage at Roblox’s end, there’s not much you can do other than just wait for them to resolve the situation. You can check Roblox’s server status at their official status page or on third-party sites like DownDetector.

Delete app data

Clearing out the app’s cache and files will force the program to re-download them and eliminate any corrupt files that may be causing this issue in the process.

Step 1: Open the Run prompt using Windows Key + R, type in %appdata% and hit enter.

Step 2: Delete the Roblox folder in the directory.

Restart the game and the error should be gone.

Use command prompt to flush DNS

The error ‘Your DNS server might be unavailable’, itself states that it has something to do with DNS settings. Misconfigured DNS settings can cause a lot of headaches. Here’s how you can reset them.

Step 1: Press Windows key + R and type in cmd, and hit enter.

Step 2: Type in ipconfig /flushdns to reset DNS settings to default.

If the above command doesn’t help, try entering these commands in the Command Prompt one at a time.

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

If you suspect an issue with your router’s DHCP assignment, use these commands to release your old IP and request a new one.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

If this doesn’t work, use the following commands to reset your network stack.

ipconfig/flushdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset

This should fix any connectivity issues with the game.
