Roblox is an online platformer game that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. That said, as seamless as the game is intended to be, sometimes it runs into some rather annoying bugs and glitches.

In this article, we’re talking about Roblox error code 523, its causes, and how you can fix the problem.

What causes this error code?

It’s a rather generic error that can be triggered by a number of different reasons. Common causes include:

  • Internet connectivity issues.
  • Active ad blockers in your browser.
  • A firewall is blocking Roblox’s connection.
  • Server outage on Roblox’s end.

How to fix this?

Here are six fixes you can try out.

Restart your PC

Restarting your PC is one of the first things you should do when resolving such errors. Rebooting machines can fix seemingly random errors, including any connectivity or update issues that you might be facing.

Restart your router

Power cycling your network equipment is the fix to more issues than you can think. More often than not, connectivity issues can be caused by an underlying bug in your router and can be fixed by rebooting.

Check Roblox’s server status

Another thing you should do is check Roblox’s server status. If there’s a server outage at Roblox’s end, there’s not much you can do other than just wait for them to resolve the situation. You can check Roblox’s server status at their official status page or on third-party sites like DownDetector

Delete app data

Clearing out the app’s cache and files will force the program to re-download them and eliminate any corrupt files that may be causing this issue in the process.

Step 1: Open the Run prompt using Windows Key + R, type in %appdata% and hit enter.

Check Firewall

Sometimes the Windows Firewall can get in the way of programs trying to access the internet, which can very well be the case here. Try temporarily disabling your firewall to see if Roblox starts working properly.
