So you’ve amassed a bunch of cheap skins and now it’s time to trade them off for a better one. One way of doing this is to sell your skins on the Steam Marketplace and use the money to buy a better one. But how do you do that?

In this article, we take a look at how you can set up your account and sell your skins on the Steam market.

You can skip the section below if your account isn’t limited. If you don’t know what that means, read on.

Setting up your account

To combat the spam account issue, Steam now makes every new account ‘limited’ until the account owner spends $5 or ₹381.97 in terms of buying a game on Steam or simply adding the money to their Steam wallet.

You also need to have the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled and your phone number added to your Steam account.

It’s highly recommended you get those elevated privileges as they unlock a bunch of features and without them, you wouldn’t be able to trade or sell skins anyway.

Now that your account is elevated, let’s get on to selling those skins away.

How to sell your skins on Steam?

Launch Steam and follow the steps below to sell skins on Steam. .

Step 1: Once in Steam, go to Your Profile name> Inventory

Step 2: When the inventory, opens up, select the skin you want to sell, scroll down and click on Sell

Step 3: The Put an item up for sale pop-up will come up. You can see the median sale prices for the item you’re trying to sell. You can enter the price you want to receive for your skin and Steam will show you the price the buyer pays.

Keep in mind that Steam takes a bit of commission from your item sales. So the buyer’s price will always be more than you receive. Another thing to note is that you need to make sure that your item is appropriately priced.

Enter the price you think is right, accept the Steam Subscriber Agreement and click the OK, put it up for sale button and your skin (or item) will immediately be put up on the Steam Market. It does ask for confirmation though, just in case.

Whenever someone buys your items, you’ll get a notification in Steam and the amount will reflect in your Steam Wallet.
