Funimation

Funimation is another giant in the anime industry, and it has a huge library of dubbed and subbed anime shows and movies. Funimation is especially great if you prefer watching anime in English, as they have some of the best voice actors and quality dubs.

Funimation also has some exclusive titles that you can’t find on Crunchyroll, such as My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, and more. You can watch some shows for free with ads on their website or app, or you can subscribe to their premium plan for $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year to get ad-free access to their entire catalogue.

Netflix

Netflix may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of anime streaming platforms, but it actually has a decent selection of anime shows and movies that you can watch with your regular subscription.

Netflix has some original anime series that are exclusive to their platform, such as Castlevania, The Seven Deadly Sins, Beastars, Aggretsuko, and more. They also have some popular classics like Death Note, Naruto Shippuden, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, One Piece, and more. The biggest disadvantage of Netflix is that they don’t update their anime library as frequently as Crunchyroll or Funimation do, and they sometimes release episodes in batches instead of weekly.

Hulu

Hulu is another mainstream streaming service that has a good variety of anime shows and movies that you can watch with your subscription. Hulu has some titles that are not available on Crunchyroll or Funimation, such as Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Steins, Gate and more.

They also have some simulcasts of new shows like Jujutsu Kaisen, The Promised Neverland and Dr Stone. Hulu’s subscription plans start from $5.99 per month with ads or $11.99 per month without ads.

9anime

9anime boasts one of the largest anime libraries online, all available to access for free. New content is added to the site every hour, meaning you get the latest episodes shortly after their official releases. They also have some of the best streaming servers in the anime streaming service space and even include premium features like skipping intros and multi-language subtitles.

Pretty much the entirety of the 9anime library is available in both subbed and dubbed content meaning you can watch your anime exactly how you want. There’s no subscription or paywall, but you might see a bunch of ads, which is how the site remains live. Regardless, 9anime is one of the best free anime sites with a rather friendly user interface and support for both mobile and PC browsers.

Animepahe

Animepahe, by its own admission, is an “okay-ish anime website” but can still come in quite handy. While not nearly as expansive as 9anime, Animepahe still has a respectable content library with sub and dub options in addition to free downloads.

The quality might not be as good as some of the aforementioned paid sites or even 9anime in some cases but it serves as a good backup site in case your primary anime-watching site is down or facing issues. However, one of the biggest issues with the website is its rather simplistic interface. It’s perfectly functional and you do get access to just about every feature you need, but it just isn’t as polished as its competitors. This makes it hard to explore new anime titles and even find the ones that you’re looking for unless you know the exact title.

You can check out Animepahe here.
