If you’re looking to stream on Twitch, Youtube or just about any other streaming platform, you’ll need overlays, a chatbot and several other things to get a professional-looking stream. Finding these elements individually can be a pain at times and hence platforms like Streamelements often help out a lot.
However, they might not always work as expected. In this article, we’re talking about Streamelements imports not working, the reasons behind it and what you can do to fix the problem.
Why aren’t StreamElements imports working?
There are several reasons why your Streamelements assets might not import or integrate with your streaming software of choice. Common factors include:
- Incorrect reference URL
- Your streaming program isn’t set up correctly
- Internet connectivity issues
- Server issues over at Streamelements

How to fix StreamElements imports?
Here are six fixes you can try out.
Restart the router
One of the first things you should do in these situations is restart your router. Restarting internet devices can fix seemingly random issues that cause connectivity problems. Just turn off your router (and modem) and wait for a few minutes before turning it back on again.
Check the reference URL
Since Streamelements is entirely web-based, importing requires a lot of URLs being copied back and forth. Check to make sure that the URLs for your imported elements are correct and match the ones provided by Streamelements exactly.
Update your streaming program
Another thing you could do is update your streaming program. If the problem is in the program itself, there’s a good chance that the developers have already issued a fix in a subsequent update. Regardless, using the updated version of any program ensures the best performance and ease of use.

Check StreamElements’ server status
Once again, since the service is web-based, if they’re experiencing any server issues on their end, chances are you’re going to run into problems too. You can check their server status by heading to the Streamelements Server Status page or by checking their official Twitter account.
Importing properly from third-party platforms
If you’re importing assets from an external, third-party platform, missing out on any important steps can cause the import to fail. Regardless of whether you’re using Streamlabs, Nightbot, CSV files, Deepbot, Moobot and TipeeeStream in your Streamelements account, there’s a specific process to import these assets. Stremelements has an excellent guide on how to import assets from a third-party platform here.
Contact StreamElements customer support
If nothing else works, your best bet is to reach out to Streamelements customer support and have them sort the issue out instead. Anything from basics about how to use the platform to creator tools, revenue, merch and sponsorships is covered in the Streamelements customer support site.
