Google has announced an update for its Translate app for web, Android and iOS, which get five new languages, Kinyarwanda, Odia (Oriya), Tatar, Turkmen and Uyghur, which are spoken by a combined of over 75 million people worldwide.
The new additions are the first languages to be added to Google Translate in over four years and bring the total number of languages supported by the tool to 108.
“Languages without a lot of web content have traditionally been challenging to translate, but through advancements in our machine learning technology, coupled with the active involvement of the Google Translate Community, we’ve added support for five languages,” Google announced.
