How to upload a ZIP file in Google Drive?

ZIP files are an excellent way to compress data, making file transfer simpler and more efficient. They require less storage and are preferred when you have a lot of data to store or export.

Google Drive is a cloud storage platform that helps users store, open, edit, share, and view files. If you upload normal, uncompressed files to Google Drive, they may take up more space, consuming much of the 15 GB of free space. You can still go for the Basic or Premium plan if you so desire.

But if you plan things a little bit more carefully, you can easily manage even this free space. One way is to compress the files first and then upload the resultant ZIP files on Google.

Note: Although you can upload ZIP files or folders to Google Drive, you will have to download them again to open and access them, as Google Drive is not equipped with the unzip functionality. You can also download a third-party app like ZIP Extractor to do this work for you.
