Like the previous year, Splashdata has compiled the most common (also read: weakest) passwords used by internet users worldwide over the internet.
And just like the previous year, this year hasn’t proven to be much different as we never learn from our mistakes — such is the circle of life.

If you’re using one of these passwords, you should consider changing it to a more secure one since any of these passwords can be compromised in seconds by dictionary-based cracking tools.
Having a unique password with both upper and lowercase alphabets alongwith a few digits and special character doesn’t make it foolproof. Still, it gives you an edge over anyone trying to crack it and access your account.
Remember not to keep your password related to personal information publicly available, such as your birthdate, mobile number, or car license plate number.
In the age of social media, we put more information out there than we realise, and so we should always be careful while choosing passwords as they are the key to your virtual world.
