Google-owned Gmail is one of the most widely used email services, which now connects with an array of other Google offerings — both for personal as well as professional use. You can send and receive emails, not just from the individuals but also from the groups. This saves a lot of time and energy and can increase your productivity manifolds.

In this article, we explain how you can create a group email in Gmail. Do read the article till the end where we have also explained how you can delete the contacts from the group.

Create a group in Google Contacts

Before creating a group email in Gmail, you will have to add members to your group as well as name the group. You can do this from Google Contacts. To start with the process, first open sign in on Google Contacts.

After that, follow the steps given below to make a group.

Step 1: When you open Google Contacts, you will see that there are several options on the left sidebar menu. One of them is Contacts, where you can see the emails of those persons which you have interacted in the past, and Frequent Contacts, which contains the emails of those who communicate with you frequently. Click on one of them. Step 2: Next, tick the ones that you want to include in the group and then click on the Manage labels arrow button at the top and then select the Create labels option from the drop-down.

Step 3: Now, name the group. As you can see from the screenshot below, I have named the group as Friends.

Now that you have created the label let us now understand how you can include this list while emailing.

How to create a group email in Gmail?

Here are the steps for creating a group email in Gmail. Before continuing, make sure that you have signed in on Gmail.

Step 1: In the Gmail window, click on Compose.Step 2: In the To section, write the name of the group that you have created. Since I have created a group by the name of Friends, I have typed Friends here. As you type the group’s name, all the contacts that you have added are now automatically added to your email list. Now, you have to write an email and then send it, and all the people included in the group will receive the email.

How to delete contacts from the Gmail group?

There are two ways to delete contacts from the group.

While emailing

In case you want to delete the contacts from the group while emailing, you can simply cross the name by clicking on the cross button at the end of the email. But, you will have to cross the names from the list individually. Alternatively, you can press the backspace button, and each individual will be removed.

Directly from Google Contacts

Or, you can go back to Google contacts again and then select the group label from the left sidebar. After that, choose the person that you want to remove from the group. Then, either click on the three-dot button at the extreme right of the person’s address on the three-dot button at the top. Then select Remove from label to remove the person from the label

You can also remove the person by clicking on the label itself. When you do this, the person will be removed. Look at the screenshot below.
