Snapchat is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world right now, primarily because of its privacy focussed features like screenshot notifications and disappearing messages. However, it also has a different take on messaging and urges users to use photos instead of text to talk.

In this article, we’re talking about how to add location information to your Snaps.

Adding location on Snapchat

Depending on what you want to do, there are a couple of options for you to add a location to your Snaps.

  • Using a location sticker
  • Using a location filter

Using location stickers on Snapchat

Location stickers allow you to set and add any location you want to your Snaps. Here’s how to use them.

  • Open Snapchat and take a snap. Once you do, tap the sticker icon.
  • Select the location sticker.
  • Type in the location you want to add.
  • Select your location and place the sticker wherever you want in your snap. Once you’re done, tap the Next button to send the snap.

Using location filters on Snapchat

If you want to use a location filter instead, the process is slightly simpler. However, keep in mind that you won’t be able to change your location when using a filter as they’re automatically generated according to your current location.

Snapchat’s location filters come in several designs.

All you have to do here is open Snapchat and take your snap. Once you do, swipe right until you come across a filter you like. More often than not, there’ll be a couple of filters for you to choose from, all in different designs. Once you’re happy with the filter, tap the Next button to send the snap.
