Enabling Chrome Extensions in incognito mode

The incognito mode in Google Chrome allows users to browse without the fear of being tracked. When the incognito mode is activated, Chrome does not save browser history, cookies and site data or the information that you insert in forms.

However, extensions are disabled in the incognito mode as Google cannit verify whether the extension is tracking you or not.

Thus, the user will have to enable the extensions while in incognito mode manually. For this to happen, the extension must be pre-installed on the browser.

Here, we are taking the example of the Adblock extension.

  • Go the three-dot menu on the top right corner and click on Settings.
  • Go to Extensions option, where you will see a list of pre-installed extensions.
  • Select the Details option of the extension that you want to enable in incognito mode.
  • Here, you will see Allow in Incognito option with an accompanying warning. Just enable the option, and you are good to go.
  • You will see the icon added on the incognito mode.
