How to make your phone busy?
Here are five ways for iPhone and Android users to make phones busy when somebody calls
Press the lock button twice (For iPhone)
iPhone has a built-in feature to avoid calls without any hassle. When a call comes in, a simple press of the lock button can mute the call, while pressing the same button twice will reject it. If you have set up the voicemail with your provider then the iOS device will redirect the call to your voicemail, then the caller can leave a voicemail and you can continue using your phone without any interruptions. However, if you haven’t set up the voicemail then it will reject the call and give the caller the rejected tone.
Enable the Airplane mode
Enabling Airplane mode works well to make your phone busy when somebody calls. Here’s how to enable it on iPhone and Android:
On iPhone

- Go to the settings app and turn the toggle on beside the Airplane Mode.
- Alternatively, you can swipe up to open the control centre and tap on the Airplane mode icon to enable it.
On Android

- Go to the Settings on your phone and tap on Network & Internet.
- Turn the toggle on beside Aeroplane mode.
- Alternatively, you can turn it on through the Notification panel, slide down from the top to access the Notification panel and then tap on the Aeroplane mode icon.

Block the number
When you block a number, you won’t receive calls or texts from that contact. Additionally, you won’t be able to text or call them either. Blocking a number is a way to make it seem like your line is busy. If someone with a blocked number calls you, they’ll hear the dead tone right away.
Enable Do Not Disturb
Enabling the do not disturb will not give the caller the busy tone but you won’t see any notifications of the calls. You can customise the settings to allow calls from the contacts you select. Here’s how to enable it on iPhone and Android:
iPhone

- Open the Settings app on your iPhone, scroll down and tap on Do Not Disturb.
- Turn the toggle on beside Do Not Disturb, you can also schedule it.
On Android

- Go to the Apps menu on your phone and tap on the Digital Wellbeing app.
- Scroll down, find and tap on the Do Not Disturb option.
- Tap on the Turn on now button.
Enable Call forwarding
Enabling the call forwarding will simply forward your calls to the provided number so that the number you chose will be the one to answer. You can enable it using your phone or by contacting your carrier. Here are the steps to enable it through your phone:
On iPhone

- Open the Settings app and tap on the Phone option.
- Now, tap on Call Forwarding.
- Turn the toggle on beside Call Forwarding.
- Enter the phone number to which you want to forward the calls.
On Android

- Open the Phone app on your phone and tap on the Triple vertical dots icon at the top right corner of the screen.
- In the menu, click on the Settings option.
- In settings, tap on the Calling accounts option.
- Choose the sim on which you want to check the call forwarding.
- Tap on the Call forwarding option.
- It will take some time to check the call forwarding, and then it will show you the results.
