Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms in the world. Due to its popularity, it’s also one of the most controversial. It isn’t rare to stumble across a rather popular tweet with some NSFW content or controversial opinion.
To protect its users and stop the spread of misinformation, Twitter has started showing several labels on such tweets indicating to users that this tweet might have content that’s not exactly correct or some sensitive content that can set off some users.Â
In this article, we’re looking at the “this tweet might include sensitive content” message you might see on some tweets. We’ll also be talking about how you can disable the warning.Â

Sensitive tweets explained
Most tweets that show the sensitive media label do so because they’ve been marked as containing sensitive material by the tweet’s author. Failure to do so can cause your Twitter account to be suspended.Â
According to Twitter, “You may not post media that is excessively gory or share violent or adult content within a live video, in profile header, or List banner images. Media depicting sexual violence and assault is also not permitted.”
How to mark your Tweets as sensitive?
Once again, if your Tweet contains content that might go against the Twitter guidelines mentioned above and you do not mark it accordingly, there’s a chance that your Twitter account might get suspended.
Here’s how you can mark your tweets for sensitive information.
Step 1: Head over to Twitter and click More.

Step 2: Click Settings and Privacy.

Step 3: Click Privacy and safety, followed by Tweets.Â

Step 4: Check the Mark media you tweet as having material that may be sensitive checkbox.

The steps for doing the same on the Twitter mobile app are identical.
