Tinder has announced the biggest ever update to the platform since the invention of the swipe giving users the option to have more control over who they meet and adding new social experiences such as Hot Takes, Vibes and Swipe Night.
The new update includes Explore — a dynamic social space that allows users to discover by interests, moods, and activities such as Hot Takes, Vibes, and Swipe Night with more activities to follow.
“Today’s launch of Explore is a major step in creating a deeper, multi-dimensional, interactive experience for our members that expands the possibilities of Tinder as a platform,” said Jim Lanzone, CEO of Tinder, in the announcement this Wednesday.

In Explore, members can find matches according to tags such as Foodies, Gamers, Music Lovers, Social Causes and even Entrepreneurs. Apart from this, you also can match by interest, moods, activities and any other parameters going on along with the current social events.
The space will also have a dedicated space to show the only photo verified profiles. The feature claimed to be the most popular trust and safety feature on the platform by the company, allows users to self-authenticate themselves using a series of selfies taken in a particular pose given out by the app. These photos are then compared to photos on your profile using human-assisted AI, and if found correct, the profile is assigned a blue verification badge.
Hot Takes, the popular Tinder nightly social experience, is also available in Explore. The feature allows users to chat with someone before matching in a low-stakes session. A timer is initiated from the first message allowing the other person to either initiate a match or let the timer run out to see other people. The feature will be available on Explore daily from 6 P.M to midnight.
Tinder’s Weekly event Vibes will also be on Explore, with Swipe Night coming in November. The Explore feature will roll out in all major English-speaking countries starting Wednesday and will be available worldwide by mid-October.
