Apple’s next-gen iPhone is expected to launch at its September 7th event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, dubbed Far out. The next iteration of the Apple Watch is also expected to launch alongwith the iPhone 14 at the company’s first major in-person product launch event since the pandemic.
Apple’s Far Out event will also be streamed online starting at 10 am (PT).
According to the rumour mills, the tech titan won’t be launching a ‘mini’ version of the new iPhone 14 device. However, four variants (including Pro/Max) are expected to be unveiled at the event. iPhone sizes are also expected to change, as shown below.
iPhone model | Screen size |
---|---|
iPhone 14 | 6.1-inch |
iPhone 14 Max | 6.7-inch |
iPhone 14 Pro | 6.1-inch |
iPhone 14 Pro Max | 6.7-inch |
Rumours suggest that the Pro models this year will get a pill-shaped camera cutout housing all the required circuitry for FaceID, while the standard models will continue with a smaller notch.

Apple is reportedly upgrading the iPhone 14 Pro lineup to a 48MP primary camera. This will significantly increase raw photographic capabilities reserved for the high-end iPhones. For the standard iPhone 14, Apple is expected to continue with the two-camera system we’ve all come to see. One 12MP primary camera and another 12MP ultrawide camera.
The Pro models will reportedly get a newer A16 SoC. 6GB RAM is expected to be standard across all four models, increasing the 4GB in iPhone 13 and 13 mini.
