As an avid cryptocurrency enthusiast, you may have encountered Bezmex.com, a website that garnered attention in recent months due to aggressive social media marketing.

But is Bezmex legit or a scam? In this article, we’ll try to provide an answer to this question. We’ll also provide some tips on how to protect yourself from such scams in the future.

We’ll cover the following:

Safety assessment of Bezmex.com website

We’ll start by analysing the Bezmex website for any signs of a scam. We will run the website through several domain intelligence platforms like threatYeti and Suruci. Next, we will head to Scamadviser and look for customer reviews.

threatYeti

When we scanned Bezmex on threatYeti, we discovered that the website has a risk rating of 4.50 and was placed in the ‘Warning’ category.

Out of the total of 1,194 shared IP addresses, 30 were found to be risky. Although the threat is not severe, you should exercise caution while visiting this website.

Sucuri

Another security vendor, Sucuri, agrees with threatYeti’s analysis. On Sucuri, Bezmex was again classified as a Medium Security Risk.

Two reputable security vendors have flagged Bezmex as a potential security risk. Many others would do the same, too. But just to be sure, we checked Scamadviser for customer reviews.

Scamadviser

On Scamadviser, Bezmex scored quite poorly. With a trust score of only 1/100, Bezmex looks like a scam website.

As far as the customer reviews are concerned, take a look at this comment by Sergio Ortega:

“They will stop at nothing until you are wrecked. They might let you withdraw money once or twice to gain your trust. When you request for withdrawal, they will ask you to pay for tax. You will be forced to send more money in order to save.”

This signifies that the scammers are indeed trying to put a garb of legitimacy on the website. They will refund your money a few times so that you can tell your friends about the website, and the scammers will get free publicity. In fact, this technique is used by most scammers to lure the victims.

Finally, we head to the website to check it further. The website was indeed designed beautifully, resembling a legitimate platform. One thing we found odd was the missing ‘About Us’ page.

Every crypto platform and legitimate business will have this dedicated website page. Even on the FAQs page, there is no information about the website’s owner. Now, it is evident that the website is a fraud. We don’t have to look any further.

In conclusion, based on the above pieces of evidence, we can say that Bezmex.com is a fraud and scam. You should avoid visiting or doing any transactions on the website

How to protect yourself from such scams?

Nowadays, such elaborate scams are being exposed almost daily. So, you must be aware of the dangers and exercise a little restraint when opting for a crypto vendor. Cryptocurrency scams are one of the most lucrative malicious businesses out there, and many threat actors are looking to exploit unsuspecting victims in this field.

We have prepared a list of the eight most common types of crypto scams you should know.

Here are some tips to protect yourself:

  • Exercise caution when you see a ‘too good to be true’ phenomenon like Bezmex was promoting in its initial days. Learn to differentiate between a deep fake and an original video, as deep fakes are used for scam marketing.
  • Do not trust random screenshots of get-rich-quicker crypto schemes on social media and messaging platforms.
  • If you want to buy or sell cryptocurrency on any platform, do your own research by going to various online forums and reviewing websites.
  • Do not fall for high returns guaranteed on crypto investments, especially now when the markets are down. Always check the current market trend before investing.
  • Take a long and detailed look at the website. Check whether the website has an ‘About Us’ page, FAQs, terms of service and a privacy policy page.
