It can get really frustrating when people spam your pictures’ comments section with obscene remarks or try to take the wrong advantage of the posts you put up on Instagram. It might also be the case that you wouldn’t want someone to know you had an account on Instagram.

Luckily, Instagram has the functionality to block such people and it can be done with great ease.

How to block someone on Instagram?

Once you block a person on Instagram, they won’t be able to see your posts or stories or find your profile.

Block people on Instagram on your PC

Step 1: Log into your Instagram account and type in the person’s name you want to block in the Search tab.

Step 2: Go to the person’s profile and select the ‘triple-dot (∙∙∙)’ option.

Step 3: A list functions will appear. Select the Block this user option.

Step 4: A confirmation message will pop up that notifies that the person you are about to block will not be able to view your profile, posts or stories. Confirm blocking the person by selecting the Block option.

The person is now blocked on Instagram.

Block people on Instagram using your Android Phone

Step 1: Search for the person by typing their name in the “Search” tab.

Step 2: Locate the ‘triple-dot (∙∙∙)’ tab in the upper right corner of the person’s profile page and select it.

Step 3: Select the Block option.

Step 4: Confirm blocking the person by selecting the Yes, I’m sure option.

Block people on Instagram using your iPhone

Step 1: Search for the person by typing their name in the Search tab.

Step 2: Go to the person’s profile page and locate the ‘triple-dot (∙∙∙)’ icon on the top right of your screen.

Step 3: Tapping on it will reveal a drop-down menu. Tap on Block.

Step 4:  Confirm blocking the person by selecting Block.
