Is Fraavy safe or a scam?

Fraavy promises unlimited video content, audiobooks, music, games, software, sports, and concerts starting from $49.95 monthly for a monthly subscription.

However, many people on various forums have reported the website as an elaborate scam. People have reported that after you pay for the subscription, you will not have access to videos or other things they promised. Moreover, customer support is not responsive, and the money is not refunded.

In this article, we’ll analyse Fraavy.com and explain whether it is a scam.

How does Fraavy scam works?

This scam is a result of false advertising and QR scams combined. Many people have said that they scanned a QR code to pay for a product and saw that $1 was deducted from their bank account to Fraavy.

Some customers found it odd and quickly contacted their bank and locked their credit cards. They were lucky as those who didn’t react were scammed of $40-$50 within a few days to a month.

Users also tried in vain to contact Fraavy and cancel their subscriptions. However, as the scam grew, the authorities and banks became active and quickly flagged and blocked all such suspicious trades.

Analysing Fraavy.com website

To assess whether Fraavy is safe or a scam, we started by analysing the website itself. Suppose you visit any online service that provides content. In that case, they will mention the company information, subscription plans targeting various sections of society, and other important information such as About Us, FAQs and social media links.

When you visit Fraavy.com, you will be surprised that none of the above information is on the website. You will only see two options at the top: Sign up and Sign in, alongwith an option to choose different languages, including English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Finnish and Japanese.

There is no About Us page, the parent company information, or other information. Although the website has dedicated pages for Privacy policy and Terms and services, the documents seem like they were drafted for some other company, and somebody scanned those documents and put them here. You cannot copy any line from the company’s privacy policy or terms of service.

What to do if you have purchased a Fraavy subscription?

Given that there are about 7 million monthly visitors to the Fraavy.com website, it is natural that some people will fall for the scam.

However, all is not lost, and there are a few ways by which you can still protect your finances:

  • Contact your bank and explain to them in detail what has transpired. Also, ask them to block your credit card. Furthermore, you may have to monitor your account for a few months for any suspicious transactions.
  • While you’re at it, do change your bank passwords. The new password should be strong, making it hard for cybercriminals to crack it. For more information, please read our detailed article on choosing a strong password.
  • Report the scam to the Federal Trade Commission and the Internet Crime Complaint Center.

In conclusion, Fraavy is a scam, and we advise you not to buy their subscriptions. There are tons of other legitimate websites offering the same products. If you fall for the scam, follow the above steps to protect yourself.
