When you sign up on Twitter, you enter the details such as your name, date of birth and other essentials. However, many of us have entered the wrong birth date by mistake and want to rectify the mistake. In this article, we’ll explain how to easily change your age on Twitter.
Change your age on the Twitter app
First, let us learn to change the age on the Twitter app:
- Open Twitter and then tap on your profile picture at the top left and select Profile.
- Next, tap on Edit profile.
- Now, tap on your birth date under the Date of birth heading.
- Tap on your date of birth again and then select Edit to start editing.
- After you are done, tap on Continue to finalise the changes.
To tweak the privacy settings about your date of birth on Twitter, tap on either the Month and Day or Year options and then select who can view your date of birth on Twitter.
Twitter provides five privacy options: Public, Your followers, People you follow, You follow each other and Only you. Select the appropriate option as per your preference.

Change your age on Twitter website
Now that we understand how to change your age on the Twitter app, let us learn how to do the same on the Twitter website.
Step 1: Open Twitter and then click on your profile picture.
Step 2: Next, click on Edit profile.
Step 3: Scroll down and then click on Edit beside Birth date.
Step 4: Confirm the choice by clicking on Edit.
Step 5: Now, select a new birth date and then click on Save.
Here, too, you can click on the Month and Day or the Year tabs and select the appropriate privacy setting for your date of birth on Twitter. You’ll see the same privacy options discussed in the previous section.

Why you should consider changing your age on Twitter?
If you have registered the wrong date of birth on Twitter intentionally, you should consider changing it for the following reasons:
- You can start Twitter Subscriptions if you are above 10 and have 500 followers.
- Twitter also blocks posts and sensitive content for people under 18.
