How to change the wallpaper on a Chromebook?

Customising your Chromebook is a great way to make it feel more personal. Changing the wallpaper is one of the simplest ways to personalise your Chromebook. Whether you opt for pre-installed wallpapers or upload your images, changing wallpapers on a Chromebook is straightforward.

This article discusses the steps to change the wallpaper on a Chromebook, set a custom wallpaper and steps to sync wallpaper on multiple devices.

Change Wallpaper on Chromebook

To change the background wallpaper on your Chromebook, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Right-click on your desktop.

Step 2: Click on the Set wallpaper & Style option in the menu. An alternate way to access wallpaper settings is by going to Settings > Personalization > Set your wallpaper & style.

Step 3: Under the Wallpaper section, either click on the Arrowhead above the wallpaper or click on the wallpaper.

Step 4: If you want to set a custom wallpaper then click on My Images to set an image saved on your device as your wallpaper. If you have an image on Google Photos and want to use it as wallpaper then click on Google Photos.

Step 5: To set a pre-installed wallpaper, click on the wallpaper category and then click on the wallpaper to set it as your background wallpaper on your Chromebook.

Step 6: To change your wallpaper automatically daily, click the Change Daily button.

Set custom wallpaper using right-click

The above method allows you to set a custom wallpaper, but there is an even easier way to set a saved image on your Chromebook as your wallpaper. Here is how to do that:

Step: Go to the saved image you want to set as your Chromebook wallpaper and right-click on the image. Then, in the dropdown menu, click on the Set as wallpaper option.


Sync wallpaper across multiple Chromebooks

Chromebooks allow you to sync your wallpaper and other settings across multiple Chromebooks. Here are the steps to sync wallpapers:

Step 1: Click on the Time on the Chromebook shelf, and then in the notification menu, click on the Settings icon.

Step 2: In settings, click on the Accounts tab in the sidebar, and then on the right side, click on the Sync and Google services option.

Step 3: Click on the Manage What You Sync option.

Step 4: Click on Sync Everything to sync all the data or Customise Sync if you want to sync the wallpaper.
