Fastag has emerged as a convenient solution for hassle-free toll payments on highways across India. However, there may be instances where you need to deactivate your Fastag, whether due to vehicle sale, replacement, or other reasons.

Identify your Fastag issuer
The first step is to identify where you purchased your Fastag. It could be through your bank, a digital wallet platform like Paytm, or the official issuer, IHMCL. Each platform has its deactivation process, so you must log in to their respective websites or apps.
How to deactivate Axis Bank Fastag?
- Compose an email to request the cancellation of your Fastag from your registered email address and send it to etc.management@axisbank.com.
- Another way is to contact the bank’s customer care number at 18004198585 and inform them about your request to deactivate your Fastag.
How to deactivate HDFC Bank Fastag?
As with Axis Bank, you must contact the bank’s customer support. You can reach out to HDFC customer support through the following channels:
- Phone support: To submit your request, contact HDFC customer support by dialling 1800-120-1243 or their helpline number 1033.
- Email support: You can email fastagsupport@1pay.in to submit your deactivation request.
- Fastag customer portal: Alternatively, you can access their Fastag portal to initiate a request for Fastag deactivation.
Once you connect with the customer support executive, provide the essential information, such as Fasttag account details, vehicle information, and the reason for deactivation.
How to deactivate Airtel Payments Bank Fastag?
If you need to deactivate your Fastag from Airtel Payments Bank, dial the bank’s customer care numbers 400 or 8800688006 and request the deactivation of your Fastag.
How to deactivate Paytm Fastag?
If you have a Paytm Fatag and want to deactivate it then follow the steps below:
- Open the Paytm app, scroll down to the Paytm Payments Bank section and tap on the Close Fastag option.
- Your Fastag information will be shown on the screen. Tap on your Fastag.
- Tap on the Close Fastag option.
- Choose the reason for closing your Fastag and tap on the Proceed button.
- It will show you the refundable amount. Tap on the Close Fastag button.
- Now, it will ask you to upload the image of the destroyed Fastag. Upload it.
You can also contact Paytm’s customer support at 1800-120-4219 to close your FASTag account. Just make sure to give them your phone number and car’s registration number when you talk to them.
How to deactivate ICICI Fastag?
You can reach out to ICICI Bank’s customer care number at 1800-210-0104. A customer service representative will assist you through the process. Alternatively, you can deactivate ICICI Fastag through ICICI Bank’s Fastag portal; here are the steps:
- Visit the ICICI Bank FASTag portal.
- Log in with your credentials.
- Click on Close Account on the top banner.
- Enter your details, ID proof and account details.
- Tap on Submit to initiate the FASTag account closure process.
You can also use the ICICI Mobile Pay app, go to the Fastag section and deactivate the one you don’t need any more.
