The MacBook is well-known for its stylish design and impressive capabilities, making it a favoured option for both personal and professional use. Even though its default settings are generally easy to use, there are instances when users might want to mute the ringer temporarily, especially in places where noise could be bothersome or inappropriate.
In this article, we have discussed how to turn off the ringer on a Macbook, including via your iPhone.
Turn off the ringer on the Macbook
Unlike a cellphone, your computer gets phone calls through the FaceTime app, even if the person calling isn’t using video chat. FaceTime has this neat feature that lets you make audio-only calls online. So, if you want to stop your Mac from ringing when you get a call, turn off FaceTime notifications on your Mac. Here are the steps to do that:
Step 1: Click on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, and then in the dropdown menu, click on the System Settings option.
Step 2: In the System Settings, click on the Notifications option in the sidebar and then click on the FaceTime app or any other app for which you would like to turn off the ringer.
Step 3: Turn the toggle off beside the Allow notifications option at the top.
Step 4: It will turn grey when disabled.
