Pinterest has launched Idea Pins, a multi-page video format that will be available to all creators in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, UK, and the USA starting today.
Idea Pins was launched in beta in September 2020 to a small group of creators, and the company calls it “an evolution of Story Pins”. The feature allows creators to publish up to 20 pages of content, including audio and video from the creators and music by Epidemic Sound. Creators can also tag people and use interactive elements like stickers.
Any Idea Pins can also be exported from Pinterest and shared to other platforms. Creators can also use the detail pages to add instructions, ingredients or recipes.
Topic tagging also allows easy discovery of Idea Pins by helping the creators connect with an audience with similar interests. Any creator with a business account will leverage the feature to create more interactive full-page content and drive up engagement on their pages.
“With Idea Pins, creators are empowered to share their passions and inspire and grow their audiences. By helping people on Pinterest spark creativity, try new things, build confidence, and be themselves, we believe creators are truly helping with our mission of bringing inspiration to create a life you love,” said Even Sharp, co-founder, Chief Design and Creative Officer, Pinterest.
All Pinterest users in the aforementioned eight countries can access Idea Pins from creators they follow at the top of the home feed.
Idea Pins will also be available in Search, Today Tab and at the top of creator profiles.
“We believe the best inspiration comes from people who are fueled by their passions and want to bring positivity and creativity into the world. From creators to hobbyists to publishers, Pinterest is a place where anyone can publish great ideas and discover inspiring content.”
Pinterest has also updated analytics on the platform, which now also includes new followers and profile visits metric to help creators get insights about their current page engagement and make a suitable plan for their future content ideas. Engagement metrics such as saves, comments and reactions can also be accessed more easily.
