PPS6180 explained

Telecom services usually throw errors using different error codes. PPS6180 is usually indicative of a number using prepaid services being unavailable at a particular time. This can be caused by a number of reasons, including the following.

Expired plan
The number is an area with no service
The line is currently disconnected
The phone is switched off
Your number has been blocked by the person you’re trying to call.
Spoofed numbers

Most prepaid plans offer cellular access based on the plan itself. This means that when a particular customer’s balance hits the minimum limit allowed by the telecom provider, their phone can become unreachable and people dialling that number might hear this error code instead.

In addition to the aforementioned reasons, there are also numbers that don’t accept incoming calls and are only meant for outgoing calls and messages.

How to fix this?

Here are four fixes you can try out

Try again after some time

The most common reason this error happens is that the recipient’s number is in an out-of-coverage area or isn’t powered on. Try calling again after some time and the call should go through.

Check if you’ve been blocked

If the recipient has blocked your numbers, your calls are likely to terminate in this error code. Check with the recipient to see if your number has been accidentally blocked, Once unblocked, your calls should go through just fine.

Send a SMS

SMSs usually go through even when the receiving number is in an area with spotty connectivity. If your SMS can get through, there’s a chance that calling will also work once they get to an area with better coverage.

Use another app

This isn’t a solution as much as a workaround, but if you both have an app that lets you communicate over the internet (either WiFi or cellular), you can just call them on that particular app, Messenger, Whatsapp, Snapchat and other messaging apps being prominent examples.
