Restart your iPhone

Enable Airplane mode

Sometimes, improper network connectivity can also cause phone calls to go straight to voicemail. You can try toggling airplane mode on and then off to see if that solves the problem.

You can either enable and disable Airplane mode on your iPhone using the phone settings or through the Control Centre.


Disable Do Not Disturb

If your iOS device has DND mode enabled, iOS will automatically silence notifications from almost all apps on your phone. Here’s how you can check if DND mode is messing with your phone calls.

  • Make sure that the Do Not Disturb and Scheduled sliders are disabled.

Update carrier settings

Depending on the carrier, you’ll see prompts for updating carrier settings on the iPhone once in a while. These updates aren’t as frequent, but you’ll see it upon restarting the iPhone if you’ve one pending. This should fix the iPhone calls going straight to voicemail error.


Disable Call Forwarding

Call Forwarding can also send your phone calls straight to voicemail. Here’s how to disable the feature.

  • Head over to your phone settigns and tap Phone.
  • Head to Call Forwarding.
  • Disable the Call Forwarding toggle. 

Disable unkown called silencing

iPhones have a feature that can automatically silence unknown callers. Make sure it’s disabled.

  • Head over to your phone settigns and tap Phone.
  • Disable the Silence Unkown Callers settings.

Announce calls

If you’re missing phone calls. iPhone can also announce them for you. Here’s how.

  • Head over to your phone settigns and tap Phone.
  • Tap Announce Calls.
  • Select Always.

Reset network settings

Open your iPhone or iPad’s settings and follow the steps mentioned below to reset network settings.

  • Scroll down and tap on General.
  • Tap on Reset.
  • You’ll find a Reset Network Settings button there. Tap on it to reset your network stack.
